Gonzalez was signed to a contract with the Falcons to run for two seasons and $14 million on March 15, 2013. This despite having stated that Gonzalez was claiming he would like to retire after the 2013 NFL season. Randy Moss' retirement meant that Gonzalez was the league's top player in active yards recieving the last time during his playing career.
